Romy Schneider is one of my favorite actresses, and today would have been her 70th birthday. In tribute, here's a scene from Le Vieux Fusil with the great Philippe Noiret.

"More and more often there is embarrassment all around when the wish to hear a story is expressed. It is as if something that seemed inalienable to us, the securest among our possessions, were taken from us: the ability to exchange experiences." -- Walter Benjamin
Romy Schneider! Absolutely divine! I had not seen her in ages, I will netflix her and Philippe Noiret right away! Thanks for the memories. BTW, do you speak French?
ReplyDeleteHey Franck! Glad to be of service.
ReplyDeleteI tried to learn French years ago, but my brain was too tiny. German and Spanish took up all the allowable "foreign tongues" space. That said, I've been thinking about giving French another shot, but strictly for listening and reading comprehension ... For me to try to speak would be a crime against the language, which I understand is punishable by death in France.
