"More and more often there is embarrassment all around when the wish to hear a story is expressed. It is as if something that seemed inalienable to us, the securest among our possessions, were taken from us: the ability to exchange experiences." -- Walter Benjamin
No One person is an island unto itself.
ReplyDeleteI am however learning how valuable the simple things like birds singing and the sound of the wind are so beautiful. Once you slow down enough to realise that for us all everyday is a gift that you can count and there all numbered. Stop right now and appreciate all and be astonished by the simple things you take for granted.
Just stop and listen right now and look as if it were your last sight you will ever see.
Life is like a flower as delicate and beautiful as the dew dripping from its petals. Glistening in the sunlight. It never says a word but its beauty is indescribable.

It is amazing how reading a few words by
ReplyDeleteKaleko can set you mind a drifting in thought thanks Inez
My dear Friend,
ReplyDeleteknowing what you're going through with your friend right now makes your comments that much more special. I know that it must also be changing the way you look at how precious life is; not that you didn't consider it precious before, but still.
The best bit from the song Cabaret?
"Start by admitting from cradle to tomb, just isn't that long a stay. Life is a cabaret old chum, and I love a cabaret!!"
Okay, now I'm off to eat ice cream and smell a flower. Hugs!!
